My name is Alec Starzef. I'm a UX/UI professional creating mobile and desktop experience for clients including American Express, American International Group (AIG), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cox Automotive, Knights of Columbus, JP Morgan Chase, Mutual of Omaha Bank, Lincoln Financial, Tropicana Casino Las Vegas, The Hartford Insurance, Standard & Poor's and Pfizer.

I have a solid background in all stages of the digital design process, including research, design, prototyping and user testing.

I have extensive experience working independently and collaborating with teams in agency and corporate environments.

My process is flexible and based on available data and time constrains.
I choose the appropriate stage according to the scope and risk associated with proposed feature.

Stage 1 - Understand Problems

Project: Home page design for global data ecosystem Cornerstone.
My role: I redesigned UX and UI of the page based on competetive analysis, business goals and user feedback.
Achievements: Expanded number of users for 16% by clearly presenting available tools and features.
Used Tools: Sketch, InVision, Zeplin, Photoshop, Illustrator.

Project: Design of new analytical tool for global data ecosystem Cornerstone.
My role: I designed user flow, interactions and multiple data visualizations for a Data Quality reviewing and rating tool.
Achievements: Increased user productivity by simplifying data comparison process.

American International Group (AIG)

Project: Design of AIG Online Application.
My role: I led UX design for Guided Portfolio Services application.
Achievements: Increased user productivity by introducing online enrollment. Decreased customer support costs by bringing online retirement needs analysis, portfolio/fund selection, and enabling on-going asset management.

Project: Replatforming of Legacy Application to the Web.
My role: I led UX/UI design for Online Licensing and Registration (OLRS) application in three US states.
Achievements: Increased user productivity by replacing legacy system with the web-based application. Increased effectiveness, streamlined transaction processes which reduced user errors. Created app components reference library and style guides.

Project: Design of Public and Members-only Websites.
My role: I led UX design for all company public (1200 pages) and member websites.
Achievements: Increased user productivity by restructuring site architecture from 7 to 3 navigation levels. Completed competitive analysis, user research, full site inventory, site maps, and user flows. Created annotated wireframes and prototypes using responsive/adaptive principles to achieve a desirable user model and user interface.

Project: Design of Freedom and Sapphire Credit Card Microsites.
My role: I was responsible for the UX strategy and design of credit card microsites.
Achievements: Increased conversion rate and decreased customer support costs by clearly presenting marketing, cross-sell, and account information based on customer's authentication data. Designed sitemaps, created annotated wireframes for full site and mobile.

Tropicana Casino Las Vegas

My role: I led UX design for casino's public website.
Achievements: Increased user productivity and eliminated subcontractor's costs by introducing online reservation functionality. Designed sitemaps, annotated wireframes, process flows and interactions for desktop and mobile platforms.

My role: I was responsible for the UX strategy and design of Mutual of Omaha Bank website.
Achievements: Increased customer productivity by redesigning Information Architecture using primary user groups. Created full site inventory, designed sitemaps and annotated wireframes.

Project: Design of Automobile Insurance Policy Applications.
My role: I led and supervised UX design for new Auto Policy system.
Achievements: Increased call center representatives productivity by merging 7 older applications into 1. Reduced average call time to center from 17 to 11 minutes. Decreased training costs of new employees by creating fully functional task-based prototypes. Supervised overall UX screen design, flows and interactions.
Used Tools: Visio, Photoshop, Axure RP, Dreamweaver, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, CSC Exceed.

Project: Design of Intranet Social Media Site.
My role: I was responsible for the UX/UI design of Social Media site for The Hartford employees.
Achievements: Increased employees productivity by bringing communication and collaboration tools to the intranet space. Designed user flows, sitemap, wireframes, detailed interactions, mockups and all supporting graphics. Developed prototypes and custom CSS add-on files.
Used Tools: Visio, Photoshop, Axure RP, Dreamweaver, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, MS SharePoint.

Project: Design of RatingsGateway Intranet Portal.
My role: I led UX design for S&P employees internal portal with access to useful tools, resources, news and announcements.
Achievements: Increased employees productivity by creating dashboard with customizable portlets and exposing essential data needed for daily work activities. Created user flows, sitemaps, storyboards, page/screen schematics and detailed functional specifications.
Used Tools: Visio, Photoshop, Word, CMS Vignette.
